Next Steps in School Violence Prevention: 
Advanced Training & Case Management

Tennessee schools and districts who have completed the Level 1 and Level 2 training are encouraged to take part in this grant focused on enhancing existing statewide school safety initiatives. The goal is to improve school safety by implementing and maintaining an evidence-based behavioral threat assessment and management (BTAM) program to prevent school violence and promote a positive school environment.

Key components include:

  • Delivering advanced training in behavioral threat assessment case management.

  • Providing program implementation and sustainability support for Tennessee schools.

  • Optional implementation of electronic case management system.

Safe & Sound Level 3 Training

During this full-day, hands-on training, participants will sharpen their high-level BTAM skills, from advanced interviewing and digital threat assessment, to building and adjusting real-world case management plans. They’ll practice turning assessments into coordinated, actionable interventions that keep schools safe while guiding individuals toward positive outcomes.

Navigate360 Behavioral Case Manager

Utilizing the federal BTAM model, the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS), and a curated library of expert-developed processes, Navigate360 Behavioral Case Manager offers a centralized system for multidisciplinary teams to gather and analyze information in order to create tailored management plans.

Additionally:

  • Guide teams through systematic case documentation, assessment, and implementation of harm reduction plans.

  • Include a comprehensive data dashboard for district administrators and stakeholders to review insights, improve process visibility, and identify any potential gaps.

  • Support multiple roles and permissions, enabling district and community partners to collaborate, review cases, and aggregate data in real-time.

Program Development & Operation

Intensive BTAM program development services will also be provided to support districts/schools participating in the project through:

​

  • Developing a data-driven implementation plan

  • Providing communication and messaging about the BTAM program for various audiences

  • Coordinating internal and external meetings

  • Gathering feedback and input including law enforcement, behavioral health specialists, community stakeholders, and school personnel

  • Developing various resources (policies, manuals, FAQs, etc.) to support implementation

How Do I Get Access for My District?

  1. Complete the acknowledgment form and send it to Safe and Sound Schools at (tnbtam@safeandsoundschools.org). Download the form below.

  2. You will receive an email confirming your participation in the grant along with contacts for next steps.

  3. Navigate360 will reach out to begin the onboarding process for Behavioral Case Manager.

  4. Safe and Sound Schools will reach out to share details and the next steps for the Level 3 workshop.
