Safe and Sound Schools Welcomes Associate Director of Bright Futures Mission Development
Please join us in welcoming Doug Hunt to the Safe and Sound Schools team! Doug has joined us to champion our work as the Associate Director of Bright Futures Mission Advancement. Based in Joplin, MO, Doug brings a deep passion for community building and, in his own words, “putting real hope and gratitude into the heart of a child who feels like giving up.”
With a personal connection to Bright Futures and an impressive professional background in community engagement, elected public service, keynote speaking, business development, and television broadcasting, his passion and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to expand our mission to open a way for all children to learn to lead and serve to their full potential.

Most recently, Doug served as the Director of Entrepreneurship at the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, where he focused on community building, placemaking, broadening the organization’s reach and impact. In his new role, Doug will bring this expertise to the Bright Futures program, building strong bridges to new communities and leading efforts to expand our footprint across the country.
