"Dr. Stephanie Grant is one of a kind, and we are thrilled to welcome her as an exclusive member of our Speakers Bureau! Her ability to break down complex topics like childhood trauma and neurodevelopment into approachable, easy-to-understand concepts — then translate them into actionable strategies —is a true gift. Paired with her personal experience and deep insights into mental health and trauma-informed care, she’s a powerful resource for any school, district, or conference seeking professional development in these areas."
- Michele Gay, Founder and Executive Director, Safe and Sound Schools
Throughout her career in mental health and developmental psychology, Dr. Grant has far-reaching accomplishments including the founding of Connected Development, the creation of nationally recognized trauma-informed training programs, and her deep commitment to improving outcomes for children in foster and adoptive care systems.
As a foster and adoptive parent herself, Stephanie brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She has developed widely-used training modules such as “Trauma Informed Caregiving” and “Understanding Neurodevelopment and the Stress Response System” and regularly consults with community organizations, schools, and caregiver networks across the country.
"Early childhood trauma can impact the whole child — body and brain — in profound ways. As caregivers, educators, and engaged community members, our ability to recognize and understand the impact stressful experiences have on developing brains and bodies is essential to improving outcomes for children. I’m excited to expand this information — and applicable strategies — through the Safe and Sound Speakers Bureau. Supporting the environments children are in, as well as equipping the people who care for them, is work I know helps keep our schools and our children safe and sound."
