AFTER A TRAGEDY: SUPPORTING SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES

This morning our hearts are heavy for the Bend, Oregon, community and all those grieving alongside them. Four lives lost, and countless others forever changed – it is a tragedy that no community should ever experience.

As an organization born out of loss, we know that the impact of an act of violence like this is complex and long-lasting. The children, families, and community members impacted will need compassion and continued support as they navigate the weeks, months, and years to come. In moments like these, the strength and care of a community matter more than ever.

Today, and always, our Safe and Sound Schools community stands alongside those who are grieving, offering care and understanding. Through this difficult time, our mission must remain our North Star: when we stand shoulder to shoulder, united in our purpose and committed to caring for one another, we can build a future where every student, educator, and community is truly safe and sound.
